House Officers Clinico-Pathological Conference Held Recently
A Clinico-Pathological Conference (CPC) for house officers was recently conducted at PNS Shifa Hospital, bringing together young medical graduates, consultants, and senior faculty for an interactive academic session aimed at strengthening clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.
The conference provided house officers with an opportunity to present real patient cases, correlate clinical findings with laboratory and radiology results, and discuss evidence-based management plans under expert supervision.
CPCs play a vital role in academic medical training, helping young doctors develop structured clinical thinking, improve diagnostic accuracy, and build confidence in handling complex medical scenarios. The session focused on:
Case-Based Clinical Reasoning – Structured presentation and interpretation of patient cases.
Diagnostic Correlation – Integration of lab, radiology, and pathology findings.
Interactive Problem-Solving – Consultant-led discussions to refine decision-making.
Evidence-Based Management – Emphasis on current guidelines and best practices.
The event was attended by house officers, medical officers, and senior consultants across multiple specialties. Faculty members guided participants through each step of clinical evaluation, highlighting important learning points and encouraging active participation.
